nobody puts baby in the corner
so Harlem Public is finally up and running. a friend and I went to check out the scene and there was a baby in the bar. Yes, at a small table in the back two women were sitting, chatting and drinking beer and one was holding a small baby, maybe six to nine months old. now I love a cute baby, but a baby in a bar? first thought was to worry about the air the poor infant was breathing in but then I remembered no one has smoked in bars in decades. so I guess Harlem Public is going to be that kind of bar that bar where you can park your stroller and throwback a tasty brew... and the craft beer selection is topnotch. They also have a mixologist and make their own distilled liquor, all nice touches. it was packed with a youngish, a somewhat diverse crowd and the servers were friendly and fast. I guess I will go back but the cool factor sort of waned for me with baby. I mean we are not in Park Slope anymore.
